Week-end of Fun

We had such a fun first week-end of December.
Elf, Birthday parties, Basketball, Football, Tree Hunting, Quilts and Price is Right.

There was no school on Friday, but Harper had a birthday party at the ice skating rink .
I didn't stick around for it all, but I did help her get her skates on and out on the ice.
I left as soon as she felt comfortable enough to let go of the walls.
The mom told me she wanted to go right back out after they sang happy birthday.

Then later that evening, Logan played his first high school basketball game.
They don't get to play all their games in the main gym, but they did this one.
He was actually suspended for the first half because he missed a practice (their last soccer game of the season in Tacoma was on the first Saturday of basketball practice).
But he started and played the entire 2nd half as post and had 6 points, 1 assist, and 3 rebounds.
They did lose this game vs. Mead 49-51.
They played in Spokane vs. Shadle Park on Saturday.
We didn't go to the game, but they did get the win.  He did get to start that game and scored 12 points.

Logan's first high school roster sheet.
He wasn't happy with his listed height.

These 3 didn't do a whole lotta basketball watching.
Harper practiced cart wheels in the gym area.

We knew that Alyson and Mylee's high school football team was playing for the 3A state football championship, but we weren't home yet when it started.
I was following the live updates on the Tri City Herald site for the first half.
When we finally got home from Logan's basketball game, Dave was trying to find the Huskies on TV and we happened to find the live Braves game on channel 826.
We were cheering them on but were very excited when we would catch a glimpse of our favorite athletic trainer on the sidelines.
The game came down to the wire.
O'Dea had a chance to win it with a field goal with 3 seconds left.
This was our first look at Alyson, looking quite nervous on the sidelines right before the kicker for the other team missed the field goal to send the game into overtime.
The Kamiakin Braves won in overtime 14-7.
 Happy Smile!
Alyson is on the right side getting her team state champions picture.
What a way to end their football season!

We were up early to get Logan to the bus to head to his Saturday game.
Ry played his rec league game this morning too.
They lost 12-14.

Presley had tickets for Elf again for Saturday night
(we went on Thursday night, but there were some cast changes so she wanted to watch it again)
I didn't care to see it again so she invited her friend Taylor.
They bought flowers for their friends.

There is a house near us that has lights that "dance" to Christmas music.
The homeowners had it all set up so when we drove by on our way home we stopped to watch for a few minutes.
Presley and Taylor got out of the car and danced too.

On Sunday we got up to go buy our live Christmas Tree in Cashmere.
The boys came home and played basketball outside.
And Presley gave me this Christmas quilt that her and grandma worked on while she stayed with her for a few days this summer.
It's so beautiful.  Presley did the sewing of the squares. She was so pleased with herself, she did such a good job!

Dave and the kids went out to eat dinner while me and a friend went to a live version of The Price is Right" here at the Town Toyota Center.
We registered to be contestants, but neither of us were called to "come on down".
We made these fun signs to help our chances to get picked.
(It didn't work).
I paid a little extra for a VIP pass so I could spin the big wheel at the end of the show.

Whew!  What a fun week-end!
