I'm always sending the kids little motivational messages and quotes and funny (I think) Instagram reels.
Sometimes I get sweet responses like ry's tonight.
And then Harper's response tonight....

and then sends me a filtered pic of her bald head to look like a serial killer. :)

Celebration of Life (Saturday, June 13, 2026)

Papa passed away on December 3, 2025.

Dad had many conversations in the fall with Grandma and Papa and one of those conversations was what they wanted when it came to burial and funeral arrangements.

They decided on cremation and placement in a niche, rather than scattering ashes.

Grandma held onto to Papa's remains in her home but had recently decided she was ready for him to be placed inside their niche.

And you kids expressed that you would like to be there when that happened, so today, with all of us in town, worked out perfectly.

We started this morning at their niche in the Cashmere Cemetery.

I had put together a rubbermaid box with some granite cleaners, cloths, floral foam, wire cutters, and silk flowers for grandma to have. We spent some time cleaning up their niche and arranging the vase.

All of us this morning

This afternoon we hosted Papa's Celebration of Life at our house.

FINALS: Survivor Night and Presley's Presentation

The Kreider group in the Tri-Cities have been pretty big fans of the show Survivor for the past few season.

This season was the 50th season and brought back former players.  We decided to watch this season too.

Samee created a random $5 buy in to "be" a player and the winner takes all in May!
My job was to X out each player as they were voted out at the end of each episode.
The finale was May 20th and I drove to the Tri-Cities for a dinner and viewing party in the Nihill's beautiful back yard.
Grandma and Papa pick up Miryn from school on Wednesdays and deliver her to gymnastics.
I was able to pick her up today at Highlands Middle School.
We got Miryn dropped off to gymnastics and met Samee, Amy, Nate and Thomas at Anthony's for dinner.
We sat outside and it was so beautiful!

Mylee and Ryan joined us.  We watched outside at the Nihill's.

It was a 3 hour finale and Miryn had school the next day.
In the end Aubry (Leanna) was the winner!
The 3 finalists were:
Aubry (Leanna), Jonathan (Corbin), Joe (Logan)

Grandma and I were up early Thursday morning.
She was driving to Kellogg and St. Maries with Papa and I stopped for gas and coffee and drove home too.

Papa Berries at his parents gravesites in St. Maries

I drove to Portland on Thursday, May 28th to attend Presley's final case study presentation.
This wraps up her "school" work, and she has one year left as a full time intern.

I walked in to the building and immediately saw Presley on the announcement screen.

Her cohort
Her funny cohort award was "most likely to listen to bring up Taylor Swift"
Kel and I wandered around and listened to all her cohorts presentations.

We went to dinner at the Island Cafe on Tomahawk Island.
I stayed the night in Hood River and drove home Friday morning.
