Last Day of School: June 12, 2017

We had one extra 1/2 day on Monday, June 12th to make up for the icy no-school day in the winter.

First day of School:  August 30th, 2016
Last day of school:  June 12th, 2017

There were a few complaints about a 1/2 day Monday (we're used to late start Mondays), but they all were excited it was almost summer!
Maybe Rylan was the most excited for summer!
Hands up in the air!

Dropping off my 7th grader, and picking up my 8th grader

Last Day as a Freshman
(as it turned out, this wasn't his last day of school)

Our very sweet Sunnyslope secretary is retiring.
She is the first person I saw when I registered Logan and Presley nearly 8 years ago.
She has loved on all of the Nelson kids.
We will miss Mrs. Neil!

I picked up Ry and Harper and asked what they wanted to listen to and Ry chose Survivor's Eye of the Tiger!

Our deal with Logan was that he had to have all A's and B's to get his drivers license this summer.
We have been watching that math grade all spring long, and in that last week of school it looked like he would receive a B- for his final grade.
(Everytime I checked that math grade, Logan always had a missing assignment.  We may have been lenient on getting a B- if Logan had at least turned in everything.  Anyways, the missing assignment thing drove us crazy, so we stuck with the A or B grade requirement to drive.)

On the last day of school, Logan texted me that he was going over to his friends' house after school, and I reminded him to check in with his math teacher.

Logan did check with his math teacher, who had not entered in a math test re-take score, so he had to go to school the following morning to do some extra credit assignments (which he would not have had to do at all if he had completed all his regular homework assignments on time).  But anyways, I liked his "You're going to have a driver in August" text.

I dropped him off in the morning on Tuesday to complete the math, and this is him at pick up.  Tuesday, June 13th was Logan's official last day of being a freshman.

And his final freshman report card...Beautiful A's and B's!
