On Thursday, December 18th, Rylan's class did a special 2nd grade sing along performance.
I loved it when Mrs. Howard told them to find their parents and wave to them.
I am so lucky I get to come to these events during school hours.
He had two speaking parts: One to introduce the next song they were going to sing (he introduced Over the River and Through the Woods...very appropriate for us I thought).
He also recited two lines from Twas the Night Before Christmas.
(The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads).
But my favorite part was when they dimmed the lights, put a spotlight on the class, and they sung Away in the Manger and O' Holy Night. It was beautiful.
December 19th was the last day of school.
It was Harper's jammie day and Logan's comfy/cozy day.
In the morning, the 5th grade classes have a special Christmas breakfast for students and parents. They get to show off some of their work. Presley had the most fun talking and eating with her friends.
I can't believe these little girls will be 6th graders next year.
Harper was at preschool and it felt a little odd to not have her with me.
In the afternoon Harper and I went back to the school to volunteer for Ry's Christmas party.
Mrs. Howard set out a little plate of goodies for Harper.
They attempted to stack solo cups into a tower without using their hands.
(They each had a string attached to a rubber band and they had to work together. Ry's friend Kiera, in the black, was not very happy with Rylan.). They did not do very well.
Mrs. Howard has every students bring a gift and they do an exchange.
Ry received a slinkie (which broke later this evening).
We're ready for Christmas break!!
