Disneyland: September 3rd and September 4th

Back in March we started planning a trip to Disneyland over Labor Day.  We really wanted to go during the 60th year celebration and also wanted to run the Disneyland 5K.   The kids went to school on the first day and then for 2 hours on the second day.  We picked them all up and drove to Seattle to catch our flight.

We needed to make it to the Disneyland Hotel to pick up our race packets and bib numbers before 8:00.  Our flight had a hour and a half delay (while we were all boarded) and our shuttle service in Anaheim was late too.  Dave and I quickly dropped off the kids at the hotel and high-tailed it over to the run expo at Disneyland Hotel.  We literally picked up our last t-shirt when they made the announcement that the expo would be closing.  Whew!!

We made it back to our hotel (Anaheim Fairchild) and called it an early night.  The 5K race started at 5:30 AM!!

Race Morning!!

We met at the hotel lobby at 4:30 in the morning.   Harper could not race so we left her with Papa who was also not racing, but then she got dropped off with Miryn and Tona at some point so Papa could take pictures at the finish line. 

We lined up at 5:20 AM in the dark on Disneyland Drive. 

And of course, we had to take some pictures...

The race started and Dave and Rylan took off. 

They were the first of our group to make it into the park. 

Here's Ry coming into Car's Land which was lit up so pretty. 

We were happy to say that we watched the sun rise while in Disneyland. 

I tried to keep up with Mylee and Logan and lost them. 

And then I tried to keep up with Presley and Alyson and lost them. 

It ended up being Cristy and I that ran together. 

Cristy and I took a quick stop at the castle. 

Ry and Dave decided to stop and wait for the rest of us so we could all finish together. 

They said they were waiting for a long time just past the 3 mile marker. 

Thomas, Logan and Mylee caught up with them first. 

Then Cristy and I, then Presley and Aly, then grandma, Amy, Samee, and Nate. 

I thought we were all going to finish together but Logan and Dave ended up racing to the finish line.

Logan came in first place!!

And the rest of us finished too!!

We got our medals.

And by 7:15 we were walking back to our hotel to get ready for our day in Disneyland.

You would have thought Presley just ran the full marathon. 

We made it back to Disneyland by 9:30 and went straight to Space Mountain. 

All of us rode this one together. Harper is behind Presley. 

The lines were still so short so we did the Matterhorn and Small World. 

And finally met up with everyone at the Teacups. 

Harper and Miry did Dumbo and they waited so patiently together. 

All of us went on Big Thunder together.

Ry really wanted to have a turkey leg with Thomas but he ended up not liking it at all. 

Because we were up so early our family went back to our room for a nap.

That way we could stay out late tonight. 

We met up with everyone again and went to eat dinner at ESPN. 

We did Autotopia tonight.

And Dave took Ry and Harper into one of the shops while we did Space Mountain again. 

The castle was lit up so pretty. 

We got back to our room around midnight and we were ready for bed!!
