Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 8

Day 50, Wednesday, February 19th
Logan had tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters tonight.

Day 51, Thursday, February 20
Presley's half birthday
TEN AND A HALF
Celebrated with 1/2 cupcakes from Cupcake Blues

Day 52, Friday,  February 21st
My Rylan woke up early to use the bathroom while I was in the kitchen making lunches for the day. I make a tea for myself each morning as I'm making lunches.   I asked him if he'd like to try and go back to sleep and he said he'd really like to have a tea with me.  Sometimes you just need a quite moment with your mom, wrapped up in a warm blanket to start the day.

Day 53, Saturday, February 22nd

Logan and Dad went to the kickoff of the Inaugural Season of the Wenatchee United Semi Pro Team.
Dave is part owner of the team with these men.

Day 54, Sunday, February 23rd
Harper's half birthday...FOUR AND A HALF.  We had half sandwiches at lunch time.
Also, the day Rylan had his friend party at the hotel swimming pool.

Day 55, Monday, February 24th
Rylan came home from school and immediately got to work on writing 8 thank you notes to his friends with no complaints.

Day 56, Tuesday, February 25th
Spaghetti for dinner.
Lady and the Tramp style.
Love these two!!

Ellensburg AAU Tournament: February 17-18

This is one of our favorite basketball tournaments cause the kids love to tour the college campus.  This year we did not play at the college, but rather at Ellensburg High School so that was a bummer.  In between games we still went into the HUB but lots of stores were closed because of President's Day week-end.

We did take the kids by Sue Lombard Hall...they like to hear the story of how mom and dad met.

Logan's first games were on Sunday and Grandma and Papa drove to watch him play.  Dave helped coach this week-end.
Wenatchee won the first game vs. Kittitas easily.
Logan plays defense very well and is often asked to guard the best/highest scorer from the other team.

Papa brought his camera to video Logan a little bit.  Presley likes to play sports announcer and interviewer at the end of games.  It's her favorite part of tournaments.

We lost our second game to Zillah Flight.

We decided to drive home on Saturday and this was Blewitt Pass all the way home.

We had two more games on Monday.  The first was against Ellensburg which we won in overtime.  That put us in the championship against Zillah again.  We lost to them (again) and took 2nd place for this tournament.

Starters were announced at the start of the championship game.

We were down by 16 points and battled back to tie and ultimately lost by 4.

Selfie Pics

Selfie:  Type of self portrait typically taken with a hand held digital camera or camera phone.

In 2012,  the word "selfie" was named by Time Magazine one of the top 10 buzz words and by November 2013 it was introduced into the Oxford English Dictionary as the "word of the year".

The following are examples of Nelson Selfies

Love looking through my camera photos and coming across these gems.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 7

Day 43, Wednesday, February 12th
Frigid weather means lots of indoor play.  Presley made a zoo with all of her stuffed animals.

Day 44, Thursday, February 13th
I was calling for Harper to load up in the car to head to gymnastics.  I wasn't getting a response so I went looking for her.  I don't know how loud the headphones were, but I know she was listening to "Let it Go" (Frozen soundtrack).

Day 45, Friday, February 14th.
Happy Valentine's Day

Day 46, Saturday, February 15th
We went out to dinner and decided to stop for a few groceries.  I really dislike grocery shopping, and it's not any more pleasant with extra "helpers".

Day 47, Sunday, February 16th
Logan's AAU basketball tournament in Ellensburg.
Grandma and Papa came and watched for the day.

Day 48, Monday, February 17th
Rylan getting chased by Harper and her friend Ava.  They chased him down at every game during halftime or time outs.

Day 49, Tuesday, February 18th
Harper was making faces in the bathtub.  She liked to get real close and see how big her nose and eyes were.

Rylan's first day of skiing

Ry has wanted to go skiing for so long but the timing just never quite worked out, but finally on February 14th he was able to go.  Dave decided to put him in a ski lesson which lasted all day long.  He skied with Presley and Logan and went by to check on Rylan throughout the day.  Ry came home and was so excited to tell me about his lesson.  There were only two kids in his class this day and he was most happy to get hot cocoa.  It was very cute.

All ready to get started.

Learning how to do the rope tow.
Practicing pizza (snow plowing)
He told me when he got home that pizza was kind of hard for him.
Darn crossed skis.

He had a really fun time and he'll be skiing with Dad and the big kids in no time.
Dave did tell me I was going to have to put on my big girl undies and get up there too cause there's no way he can handle four kids when Harper is ready.
I think Presley and I will enjoy relaxing in the lodge on ski days.

Valentine's Day 2014

The older kids did not have school on this Friday, but Harper did have her preschool party.
We started the morning with a breakfast of red eggs and pink milk and opening sweet Valentine gifts.

Dave wasn't busy at work so he decided to take the kids up skiing for the day.

Because nothing says "I Love You" like taking you to the top of a snowy mountain and trying to make your way down without falling.

My mom sent me a sweet Valentine:  a gift card to Starbucks which I used this morning.

We had a special heart shaped pizza for dinner.

And then we went to watch the Wenatchee/Eisenhower boys basketball game.

I love all my special valentines.

February 13th

Valentine's Day fell on a Friday this year and the kids had school off on that day.  They celebrated Valentine's at school on Thursday the 13th.

Ry and Presley before school.
They had parties in the afternoon and I managed to
sneak into both of them.

Sixth grade boys don't wear pink and heart shirts,
but they will wear bright pink basketball socks in
honor of Valentine's Day.
Ry actually had these socks on first but
Logan asked to have them back.

Me and my sweet boys.

Presley made me this in art class and gave it to me today.

What we sent out and handed out for Valentines 2014.

Eastmont Basketball Tournament: February 8-9

Logan had a home tournament on Saturday and Sunday.  They ended up winning 3 and losing 2 and placing 3rd.  They lost to Moses Lake Warriors and Eastmont Elite.  It always seems to be these three teams who are pretty evenly matched.  However, in this tournament we lost by quite a few to each of these teams.  Despite the team losing, Dave and I thought Logan played very well in all the games.

I think this picture was right after Logan scored.
Someone had had enough basketball for the week-end.
