West Virginia

Dave and I flew to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, May 8th and then drove to Buckhannon, West Virginia on Thursday, May 9th.

Dave and I were on different flights, both out of Spokane.
His flights all departed and arrived on time, and he landed in Pittsburgh at the scheduled time.
My flight however, was delayed out of Spokane.  My flight boarded on time, and then a maintenance issue was found, so we de-boarded.
I made new flight reservations, left the terminal to go to the bathroom and call Presley (thinking I might drive to see her), and then my flight actually re-boarded and left.
I took my new flight path, which had me flying through the night from Spokane to Salt Lake to Atlanta to Pittsburgh.
Dave stayed the night in Pittsburgh, and picked me up at 10:30 AM on Thursday.  I was looking and feeling rough for sure.  We stopped for coffee and drove to help Logan.

I slept for most of the drive, but did manage to see some beautiful and lush green rolling hills.

Logan had done a good job of packing and clearing out his room.
We just needed to carry boxes down and wrap up those final packing pieces.
He stayed the night in our hotel with us tonight.

We went and had lunch for the final time at his favorite spot...Stone Tower Brews.

June 2020, in a Wesleyan dorm room, when Dave and him flew out to meet the coach and tour the campus.
May 2024-- a cleaned up and checked out room in Jepson Hall.

We hung up the most important articles of clothing he'd be wearing this weekend in our hotel closet.

We drove to West Virginia's capital, Charleston, on Friday for Logan to take a test.

We dropped him off and went to breakfast and coffee.

We took a guided tour of the capital building.
The Abraham Lincoln statue is at the front of the building.

We went into the Senate Chambers,
 the House of Representatives wing,

And the West Virginia Supreme Court
It was all very impressive!
We stopped at the Govenor Jim Justice's office and his dog, BabyDog is the mascot of the office.
The tour guide encouraged us all to take a picture with the foam replica.

Dave took a picture of the Blue Willow plates for his mom.
This piece was a State winner so Dave took this picture for Ry, who is currently taking a ceramics class.

The Veteran's Memorial near the capital building.

We picked up Logan after his 7 hour test.
He told us he thought he'd be done about 3, and he called us at 3:03.

Logan wanted to hang out with his friends one more time so we had dinner at Jimbo's Bar, and then Dave bought him and his friends some drinks and we dropped him off at a frat house.

We told him to be ready at 9 AM the next day!

We went for a treat at the Dairy Queen on the Main Street.

After a couple of busy and tiring days,
tomorrow was Graduation Day!
