Busy Saturday (5-4-24)

Dave and I had to be up early because we were doing our official Applarian duties and walking in the Apple Blossom Parade today.

It was a very rainy and chilly Saturday.

Ry helped us drop off our car at the end of the route,  and he wanted to be at the beginning of the parade to see Emory off on the Cashmere float.

This was at the beginning of the parade where Dave and I waited.
Ry and his friend Mason were waiting at the food fair (Memorial Park) to wave at Emory's float as she went by.
I texted this to Ry that they were on their way.
Emory didn't see Ry, but her mom did (she was walking the route with the float).

At the end of the parade.
We walked with float #95 (out of 114), the Lakeview Royalty float.

Harper got an unexpected invitation to play her first beach volleyball tournament of the season on Friday afternoon.  Her teammate's regular partner came down sick and asked Harper if she could fill in.  I told the mom that I couldn't be there but she could definitely go and play.
It was in the Tri-Cities and I thought she might be able to have a few spectators to watch her for part of the tournament.
We've had such a lovely mild spring, but it was cold and windy in the Tri-Cities too.

Her and Mei placed 8th out of 12th so not too bad.
I was happy to receive a few tournament updates from this crew.

And then tonight was Rylan's junior prom so we headed over to Emory's house for pictures about 5:00.
