Sixth Grade Camp

I signed up Dave to be a parent chaperone for Rylan's 6th grade camp this year at Open House.

We've never been able to go before, so this was a new experience.
Every sixth grader gets to go and it's been one of Logan and Presley's favorite middle school memories.

They stay at Tall Timbers, past Leavenworth, about an hour away.
Half of the sixth graders go Wednesday to Thursday and the other half go Thursday to Friday.
The whole sixth grade class is there for a few hours together on Thursday.
Ry and Dave went Wednesday to Thursday.

Rylan rode the bus to camp, and rode back with Dave.

that's Rylan ziplining (video on Dad's phone)

The kids do all sorts of team building activities and outdoor activities.
Ry was right in his element.
He loved it.

Dave had an interesting group of 6 boys--a crier, a medicated student, one who had never stayed the night away from his parents, one who wouldn't participate in the activities, and several that were scared of the dark.  He had some funny stories.
But he survived too.

When Rylan came home he told us the story of getting in his sleeping bag at night and his feet touched the fur of this elephant.  It was dark and he was scared because he thought a rat somehow got in his sleeping bag.  He said he laid there for a while and when it didn't move he felt around with his feet and felt the big plastic eyes.  He reached down and pulled this out of his bag.
Who put it there?    Harper

I worked at the football game Friday night and the 6th grade science teacher (not the one Rylan has, but the other one who had both Logan and Presley) came up to me and said he was at camp at the same time as Rylan and said that he was a great kid and wished Ry was in his class.
