Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 38 (2020)

 Day 260, Wednesday, September 16th

Harper's friend took a family trip for a few days and asked us to keep their new kitty, Buttons.
Harper was a huge fan of the kitty, Chewy was not.

Day 261, Thursday, September 17th
Our new couch and chairs arrived today.
The big sectional was moved downstairs.

Day 262, Friday, September 18th
Dave wanted to see if he could still dunk at 46 years old...and he was close but could not (at least not in Birkenstocks).
So he bounced the ball off the backboard and Logan went up to dunk it.

Happy #46!
(Presley went to a friends house for a sleepover)

She started Running Start this morning, fall quarter is all online.

Smoke, Seven, and Football Sundays

Our week-end started and looked like this...

the air quality was consistently in the hazardous range.

We went to the Nihill's to celebrate Miryn's SEVENTH birthday.
On the way there, Rylan texted me (he and Logan stayed behind because they both had runny noses and coughs), that it was so smoky.
I texted him this picture back.
We should be seeing the Columbia River out that window.

We made it and were welcomed by Miryn's Lemonade Stand.

Alyson, Presley and Mylee

Miryn and Harper climbed trees in Miryn's back yard.
Harper picked out her present--A Cutito, and Miryn just loved it.
She carried it around and signed her thank you card "Miryn Reefito"

Dad texted the boys and we laughed at Logan's response.
We don't leave them very often :)

We were singing happy birthday and Miryn kept checking to make sure Thomas wasn't coming too close to blow out her candles.
sticking out her tongue at Thomas
And successfully blowing out her own 7 candles.

Miryn and Harper hit the piƱata and collected the candy.

Harper created this for me on the way home.

And Sunday Football is back...

Dave told us that those 8 boxes make him so happy!

Grandma and Papa took their motorhome for a getaway to the Wildhorse.
Papa and Archie stayed in and watched football too.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 37 (2020)

 Day 253, Wednesday, September 9th

Our local air quality has been horrible.
We had such a beautiful summer but we have had horrible smoky air since September 6th

Day 254, Thursday, September 10th
A little outside flipping time today.

Day 255, Friday, September 11th
Dave took Presley shopping for some new running shoes and he found some purses I might like.
Presley tried them on so I could see the length.

Day 256, Saturday, September 12th
We drove to the Tri-Cities to spend the day celebrating Miryn's 7th birthday!

Day 257, Sunday, September 13th

Sunday Football.
Dave said all those little boxes with different games, "make me so happy"

Day 258, Monday, September 14th
I was sitting out with Chewy and Ry came out to practice his sax.

Day 259, Tuesday, September 15th

Harper asked to use my phone and when I clicked it on, this is what my screen showed.
I don't even remember what I was doing to annoy her.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 36 (2020)

 Day 246, Wednesday, September 2nd

Dentist appointments for all 4 today.
The nurse asked if Logan wanted to pick from the toy box and he did!

Day 247, Thursday, September 3rd
Snuggles with Chewy this morning.

Day 248, Friday, September 4th
Logan had a cupping massage today.
Really weird looking, but he said it felt good.

Day 249, Saturday, September 5th
Chewy's chore is to bring in the newspaper on Saturday mornings.

Day 250, Sunday, September 6th
Some days are perfect, some are not!

Day 251, Monday, September 7th
Logan is writing a descriptive essay so we took a drive to the place he was writing about---Hydro Park.
He's taking notes here.

Day 252, Tuesday, September 8th
Playing chase with Chewy!  He had swim goggles.

Rylan's First Day of EIGHTH grade (8-31-20)

Happy Last Day of Middle School!

Ry is going to attend Cashmere Middle School this year.   We had to choice him in, and got approval for that to happen in late July.  We have loved the kids' middle school, but have felt like Ry would excel academically and socially at a smaller high school.  So, he's going to give it a try this weird year, and if he doesn't connect with teachers or make friends ( we wouldn't want him to get to high school and not have made friends ) OR if he just doesn't like it for any reason,  he hasn't missed a whole lot with the Wenatchee group he knows and he'll head to WHS his freshman year.

So it might be a little strange having four kids on 4 different school year calendars (Presley's Running Start schedule and Logan's Wesleyan schedule are also different that either the Wenatchee or Cashmere School Districts),  but that just sort of sums up 2020...I"m learning to roll with the punches!

I am so thankful that Ry catches on to technology as well as he does.
He knew just where to go to find the Zoom links and to log on to his classes.

My view for that first day.
I wanted to make sure he was able to get on and that everything was running smoothly.
I do not spend my morning hours like this anymore!

Rylan's 2nd day of eighth grade...he was waving his arms to get called on during a Zoom session because he knew an answer.

I laughed during Harper's learning time when one of the kids figured out how to use the pencil tool and was scribbling through all the answers.  Her teacher couldn't figure out who it was :).

I do like that I don't have to make their lunches every night, and that they'll often eat heated up dinner leftovers.

I do receive the occasional text from one of them...

We're doing okay with online learning,  but looking forward to hopefully going back to in-class learning at some point.
