When in-person graduation was cancelled in April, parents were quick to come up with ideas of how to celebrate our seniors.
Lots of ideas were floated around, but a car parade down Wenatchee Ave was at the top of the list.
The organizers made this an all senior event, so there were plenty of kids from all the Wenatchee area schools.
We started the morning with a walk along the canal with Chewy and Archie.
Dad and Papa went for a scooter ride to get the newspaper.
Logan picture (from 2019) was on the front page of the sports section, a really nice article about the 4 seniors who missed out on their final high school soccer season.
Amy and Thomas and Samee, Nate, and Miryn drove up to watch the parade.
Dave grilled hamburgers and we got Logan's jeep parade ready.
We decorated ourselves with tattoos.
Leaving our driveway...seniors and their drivers met at the Town Toyota Center. Parents were encouraged to drive so that the kids could cheer and wave!
At the Town Toyota Center in the line up.
Dave and Logan were right behind Colby's truck full of kids, and right before some of Logan's soccer friends from Eastmont.
We made our way down to an open parking lot along the Avenue.
We had our LOGAN sign and Logan big heads ready to wave.
Oh, and licorice in the car.
They headed south past us first and then turned around at the end of the Ave and headed back north.
We would cheer and wave our signs when we could see them in the distance.
It was a really fun way to celebrate graduation and I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes an annual tradition, started by our 2020 grads!
I didn't know that Bob and Tona were going to come, but they surprised all of us and delivered cookies and a card to Logan as he drove past.
They ended up only about a block away from where we parked and stayed and cheered him on from their side of the street.
