Father's Day 2020

Father's Day 2020
\
Harper and Chewy brought Dad breakfast

Then he relaxed and watched some TV with his little buddy.

We went for a swim and the kids went around the corner and brought him his gift...
A Traeger that he's been wanting for a while now.
(We bought it at Home Depot and they let us take the one off the floor so it was already built.  Logan and the employee helped load it into my car)

We drove up to Waterville to see Papa Nelson and took rides on their Bobcat.

Dave made us some delicious steaks on his new Traeger.
And we ate outside on this beautiful night.

Presley made Dad a Happy Father's Day cake.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 25 (2020)

Day 169, Wednesday, June 17th
Ry came to clean out his locker today (actually all of his remaining locker things were stuffed in a black garbage bag and he just picked it up).
But his band teacher was there and gave him his Junior Drum Major plaque.
(This was another big bummer this spring...we never got to see Ry lead his band in the parades).

Day 170, Thursday, June 18th
Occasionally we pull up alongside each other.
We saw Logan driving home and he beep, beeped at us.

Ry's official last google meet with his core teacher.
I am so proud of how Ry finished his 7th grade year.
I'll never forget how responsible he was to finish assignments and log on to classroom google meets.

Day 171, Friday, June 19th

We did a little social distancing ice cream delivery tonight for our school friends.
We drove to their houses, played ice cream truck music, Ry and Harper loaded to the back, I lowered the back window, and they took the kids' orders.
Our ice cream was a little melty by the time we were finished.

Day 172, Saturday, June 20th
Ry is getting stronger!

Day 173, Sunday, June 21st
Father's Day family selfie

Day 174, Monday, June 22nd
These two are good buddies.
Always looking out for each other, asking about each other, won't have a treat at the end of the night until the other is ready, and tonight, they even chose the same popsicle.
(Harper has a onesie pajama too and I'm surprised she's not wearing it to match Ry)

Day 175, Tuesday, June 23rd
We got out of the house for a couple hours today and went to an open park.
That's Logan and Harper swinging.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 24 (2020)

Day 162, Wednesday, June 10th
Harper still had schoolwork this week so Miss Miryn had to be patient in the mornings while she would finish up.

Day 163, Thursday, June 11th
One of Ry's last google meets.
It was just him and his teacher this day.

Day 164, Friday, June 12th
Samee had the day off of work so she came to pick up Miryn.
Happiest hug in the whole world!

Day 165, Saturday, June 13th
Chewy found some peace after a tiring week!

Day 166, Sunday, June 14th
Two boys being lazy in the sun.

Day 167, Monday, June 15th
We have bought Girl Scout cookies from the same friend of Logan's since elementary school.
COVID delayed their arrival, but our pre-order finally arrived and we picked them up at her house.
Ry made a run for them.

Day 168, Tuesday, June 16th
Mrs. Weber dropped off Harper's 4th grade award.

SENIOR CAR PARADE: JUNE 6, 2020

When in-person graduation was cancelled in April, parents were quick to come up with ideas of how to celebrate our seniors.
Lots of ideas were floated around, but a car parade down Wenatchee Ave was at the top of the list.
The organizers made this an all senior event, so there were plenty of kids from all the Wenatchee area schools.

We started the morning with a walk along the canal with Chewy and Archie.

Dad and Papa went for a scooter ride to get the newspaper.
Logan picture (from 2019) was on the front page of the sports section, a really nice article about the 4 seniors who missed out on their final high school soccer season.

Amy and Thomas and Samee, Nate, and Miryn drove up to watch the parade.
Dave grilled hamburgers and we got Logan's jeep parade ready.

We decorated ourselves with tattoos.
Leaving our driveway...seniors and their drivers  met at the Town Toyota Center.  Parents were encouraged to drive so that the kids could cheer and wave!

At the Town Toyota Center in the line up.
Dave and Logan were right behind Colby's truck full of kids, and right before some of Logan's soccer friends from Eastmont.

We made our way down to an open parking lot along the Avenue.
We had our LOGAN sign and Logan big heads ready to wave.
Oh, and licorice in the car.

They headed south past us first and then turned around at the end of the Ave and headed back north.

We would cheer and wave our signs when we could see them in the distance.
It was a really fun way to celebrate graduation and I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes an annual tradition, started by our 2020 grads!

I didn't know that Bob and Tona were going to come, but they surprised all of us and delivered cookies and a card to Logan as he drove past.

They ended up only about a block away from where we parked and stayed and cheered him on from their side of the street.
