Kids' 2017 Memories

Logan, Age 16, Sophomore

This is Harper's first picture from 2017.

I received a phone call from the school months after picture day asking me to pay for her re-take pictures or return and exchange the first photos for the re-takes.

I didn't ask or tell Harper to go get re-takes. I didn't send her with money or a new picture packet for re-takes.

When I asked her about this, she told me that they made an intercom announcement for anyone who wanted their pictures re-taken to go to the gym and she was kind of bored in class so she told her teacher she was going to head on down for picture re-takes.

And this was her second 2nd grade picture.

Day 24, Wednesday, January 24th

I volunteered in Ry's class today and this Christmas Break Highlights paper was up.

Day 25, Thursday, January 25th

Playdate after school today.

Ry invited 3 girls over to the house this afternoon.

Day 26, Friday, January 26th

Ry's first AAU tournament for 2018, the Steve Talbot Tournament.

Logan let him use his old duffel bag.

Day 27, Saturday, January 27th

Dave won his company's national Sales Rep of the Year Award at their National Sales Meeting in San Diego.

Day 28, Sunday, January 28th

Ry's last game of the tournament today.

They won 1 game, lost 3 so they've got a lot to learn.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 3 (2018)

Day 15, Monday, January 15th

Kids' dentist appointments today.

They got to hang up their cavity free snowflake stickers.

Day 16, Tuesday, January 16th

Presley's first basketball game of the season vs. Chelan.

They won tonight.

Day 17, Wednesday, January 17th

Doing Harper's homework while waiting for Rylan to finish violin lessons.

Day 18, Thursday, January 18th

Dave started reading the book "Basic Economics".

Day 19, Friday, January 19th

3 of Logan's friends stayed over tonight.

They all drove themselves!

Day 20, Saturday, January 20th

They woke up this morning and played a little basketball before heading home.

Day 21, Sunday, January 21st

Rylan reading to Harper tonight at bedtime.

Harper and Dave built her Lego set this evening.

Day 12, Friday, January 12th

Harper called me from school today because she forgot her PE shoes and to ask if I could bring them to her. So I joined her for lunch and dropped them off.

And then I stopped by the 5th grade table to see Rylan and his friends too.

Day 13, Saturday, January 13th

A lazy morning with electronics and hot cocoa.

Day 14, Sunday, January 14th

Waiting for our food at Red Robin and we played Heads Up.

I wish I could remember what the word was.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 1 (2018)

Day 1, Monday, January 1st

Our character breakfast at Aulani

Day 2, Tuesday, January 2nd

6:15 AM and just about to land in Seattle.

Overnight flights are not really for ones wanting to sleep.

Day 3, Wednesday, January 3rd

Swimming with sea turtles a few days ago to watching deer in the snow.

Day 4, Thursday, January 4th

Dave drove Logan to Spokane this morning for his Arizona regional tournament with EPD.

Day 5, Friday, January 5th

Logan on the Grand Canyon University soccer field.

He really enjoyed the college visit and the coaches' speech.

Day 6, Saturday, January 6th

Rylan doesn't like to sleep alone downstairs, but he also had a cough so we blew up the air mattress and stuck him in our closet and closed the bathroom door.

We all slept just fine.
