Shelton Christmas Tree Farm

The kids did not have school on Friday, December 4th so after Dave was done with work we headed to Shelton's Tree Farm in Cashmere to pick out our live tree.

And we had Grandma with us, so it was extra special this year.

Ready to go.

Logan announcing that we've arrived.
It was such a pretty afternoon.

Last year these two ate the snow off the branches, this year they kicked the snow off.
Trying to get a picture of Harper and Logan pops in the frame.
Find the missing Nelson
I wish I knew what these two were talking about.
Good buddies (most of the time)
Presley starting something by throwing snow at Logan.
She should know better...
than to think her brothers won't gang up on her.

Dave told me to take a picture of the tree I liked so we could go back to it.
I don't know if this is the one we ended up bringing home.
I was kind of picky with my selection.
But I did agree to this one.
And now I'm comparing the two pictures and I'm still not sure this was my original pick.
We headed in to their office to pay and Rylan did not forget there would be warm cookies and hot cocoa waiting.
Dave and Logan tied her down.
Cocoa cups on the car.
Yay for another fun trip to the Christmas Tree Farm!!

Our week-end with Grandma

SOMEONE RETIRED!!

Grandma's last day of work was Wednesday, December 2nd.
Grandma and Papa drove up on Thursday for Presley's opening night.
Papa drove home that night, but Grandma stayed until Saturday.

We put her right to work though.
I was down at the theatre putting microphones on the actors.
Dave drove to Leavenworth to watch Logan's game.
So mom got dinner ready and watched Ry and Harper until I came back and picked them all up and headed back down to Presley's performance.

I know they enjoyed the show.
Papa drove home that night because he had some work on Friday.

The kids did not have school on Friday so we slept in, had breakfast, and then we watched the kids sled from Harper's window.
That's Logan hitting the jump he built.
Rylan on his tummy.
I took mom out shopping for a bit while Dave finished working.
Then we headed to Shelton's Tree Farm to pick out our live tree.
Logan, Grandma and Presley
All of us with our tree on top.

Bob and Tona drove up on Friday afternoon to watch Presley perform.
We ate dinner together and then Grandma stayed home with Dave, Logan, Rylan, and Harper and they watched The Santa Claus on the big screen.

On Saturday morning, Rylan had a basketball game so we met everyone there.
Rylan had a good game.
We went out to eat breakfast at Wild Huckleberry.
Then came back to our house while it began to snow.
Cristy took a picture of the front of the house with the snow coming down.
And the backyard too.
Everyone thought it was very pretty, and it was, but I was worried about them getting home after the play.
The play ended at about 4 and they all went straight home.

They texted me they made it about 6:30.

Fun and busy week-end for us with Grandma!!

The Little Mermaid Jr.: Stage Kids

Presley tried out for a part in The Little Mermaid back in the second week of September.
She was very excited to be cast as Jetsam, one of Ursula's sneaky eels.
It seems like as the practices went on I heard more and more people comment that they could not believe the way Presley could be so sweet backstage and then turn on her evil-ness when she came on stage.

This week-end was performance week-end.
The fall production is a one week-end event, rather than 2 in the spring.
She had family there for each of the 4 performances.
Opening Night:  Thursday, December 3rd
Grandma and Papa brought Harper and Ry for this performance.
Dad and Logan were at his basketball game in Leavenworth
All the actors come out in the lobby after the show.
Mom was there too, but I was backstage doing the microphones.
Harper visited the concessions many times.

Friday Night:  December 4th
Bob and Tona drove up in the late afternoon, had dinner with us, and then went to the 7:00 showing.
They drove home afterwards.
Presley went backstage to take off the make-up and costume and came back out expecting to say good-bye to Bob and Tona. She asked for my phone and texted with Tona.

Saturday Afternoon:  December 5th
You had lots of people in the audience today.
Amy, Cristy, Alyson, Grandma (again), Papa Berries, Mylee, Thomas, Logan, and Dad
(Ry and Harper came with me at intermission and we were able to watch the 2nd act)
Cousins!!
Harper snuck in a picture with Ariel.

Saturday Evening:  December 5th
Grandma and Papa Nelson came tonight.
They left during intermission and missed the 2nd act.
So I wasn't able to get a picture with them.
But I watched tonight so afterwards I grabbed a pic with my Jetsam.

I was also able to get a few pictures with the other performers.
Ainsley as Sebastian
Ella as a Mersister
Hope as Ariel

Presley was excited when a little girl who was in the audience asked if they could take a picture together.

Presley received lots of flowers and cast-grams and little notes from her cast mates.

I worked backstage doing microphones again and then I did lobby decor for the first time.
I don't think I took any pictures of how the lobby was decorated.

It was another very successful play.
Next spring's play is Seussical and Presley has already began the begging to be involved.
She told Cristy acting was her "passion".

It got a lot worse before it got any better.

Day 332, Saturday, November 28th
Presley acted out a scene from The Little Mermaid at Pybus Market this afternoon.

Day 333, Sunday, November 29th
Our elf Buddy brought us treats this morning.

Day 334, Monday, November 30th
It's so fun to leave Presley in charge to run a quick errand.
She texts me and face times me approximately 2469 times while I'm gone.

Day 335, Tuesday, December 1st
Dress Rehearsal!!
Flotsam and Jetsam

Day 336, Wednesday, December 2nd
We were hit with a snow and ice storm so Dave shoveled the driveway.
We did look to see if we could go see a movie before he took on this chore.
(The movie has to start by about 12:15 in order for it to finish before we need to pick up the kids from school).
