Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 4 (2019)

Day 22, Tuesday, January 22nd
Harper used some of her Christmas money to buy herself a fort/tent.
She loves it and has been sleeping in it.

Day 23, Wednesday, January 23rd
Presley playing against Leavenworth JV squad.
She had 6 points tonight in the win.
(This was the first of 3 games in a row)

Day 24, Thursday, January 24th
A win against Eastmont tonight.
She air-balled this free throw and was so embarrassed because it was at the end of the game and there were lots of extra parents there waiting for the next game.

Day 25, Friday, January 25th
A huge loss for Presley vs. Sunnyside.
This was the halftime score...Yikes.
Silver Lining....she had all their points at halftime.
(And ended with 3/4 of their points, she had 6 out of the 8 points total)

Logan won tonight too vs. Sunnyside Varsity

Day 26, Saturday, January 26th
Ry played in the Steve Talbot tournament this weekend.
They won 1 game out of 4.

Day 27, Sunday, January 27th
Ry's last game vs. Ferndale.
They were behind by 18 at one point and came back to only lose by 2.
(Ry had 20 points today, mostly left handed lay-ins like this)

This is who he had to guard!

Day 28, Monday, January 28th
Presley had one more game tonight.
Logan, Ry, and Harper were playing against each other while the teams were in their locker rooms.

Rylan: Student of the Month

Ry was chosen by his math teacher to be student of the month at Foothills for the month of January.
The theme was "Always Makes Good Decisions".

Dave and I were both able to be there when he was presented with his award.
The kids don't know they've won this award until the secretary asks students to come to the commons (they send a letter to parents a couple weeks in advance)
We heard his name called, and saw him walk down the stairs toward the commons.
He knew exactly what was going on.

"Rylan is a leader in our math class!  He consistently makes good decisions and shows others how to work effectively by his example.  He is funny, kind, and a pleasure to be around.  Everyone wants to be in his group because he genuinely cares about other people.  Thank you for being a stand-out student."

The principals call the students up one at a time and reads their certificate out loud.
He liked the cookies and lemonade they served at the end.
(He even brought a cookie to the teacher that nominated him).

We've been at this assembly a few other times too!

Logan, 7th grade

Presley, 6th grade.

Presley, 8th grade

Amy received a special award this month too...
"Employee of the Month"

She didn't get a free pizza or frozen yogurt like Ry, but she does get to park in a front row parking spot for the whole month!

Such kind and true words for Ry and Amy!

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 3 (2019)

Day 15, Tuesday, January 15th
I noticed on two homework packets, this is how Harper signed her work.

Day 16, Wednesday, January 16th
Presley hurt her ankle during the game last Saturday.
She had her ankle wrapped today and Dave had to help her cut it off.

Day 17, Thursday, January 17th
Harper got 100% on her Travel Club today so she got to be a tester.

Day 18, Friday, January 18th
Presley had a friend stay the night and I heard them talking about putting on a face mask so Dave and I put ours on to join them (just teasing/embarassing Presley).
We walked in her room and they had decided not to do one.

Day 19, Saturday, January 19th
A rare Mom and Harper day.
Logan and Presley had games in Yakima that Dave went to (they both won).
Rylan had a robotics tournament in Redmond (his team placed 13th and the top 10 went to the finals).

Day 20, Sunday, January 20th
Always reading.

Day 21, Monday, January 21st
No school on Monday meant a slime making play date.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 2 (2019)

Day 8, Tuesday, January 8th
The weather forecast called for snow, and for sure they were right.

Day 9, Wednesday, January 9th
Dad FaceTimed us the night he made it to the Bahamas.
He was on a walk around the resort.

Day 10, Thursday, January 10th
Dave's first morning in the Bahamas

Day 11, Friday, January 11th
Home games for both Logan and Presley, but Harper stole the show at halftime for her dance routine.

Day 12, Saturday, January 12th
Grandma and Papa stayed the night and watched 7 basketball games and 7 wins this week-end.

Day 13, Sunday, January 13th
A cold day for a bike ride, but she rode to get the mail for me.

Day 14, Monday, January 14th
Late start Monday morning snuggles

Bahamas, Basketball, and Halftime Dance Show (lots of pics)

On Tuesday, January 8th, it started snowing hard in Wenatchee.
Dave was scheduled to fly out of Seattle to the Bahamas on Wednesday morning, but he was concerned about the forecast and the passes to drive over on Wednesday morning.  He decided to head over Tuesday afternoon so he wouldn't miss his flight.

Dave made it the Bahamas for his National Sales Meeting on Wednesday about 8:00 PM.
He stayed at the Atlantis Resort
He FaceTimed us tonight.

He tried to walk through this tunnel the night he FaceTimed us, but we kept losing reception.

The view from his room.

The kids were most impressed with this waterslide.  The tube runs under the water where you can see sharks swimming around.

I had to text to let him know I saw that he was eating at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville.

Meanwhile, still snowy on Wednesday and Thursday in Wenatchee.
It had warmed up by Friday and the roads were clear.

Grandma and Papa decided to come up and stay the night on Friday night.
Logan and Presley both had games and Harper participated in a mini-dance camp and they performed at halftime of the Varsity game.

Logan had told us that he was officially moved up full time to Varsity so this was his first game being available all 4 quarters for Varsity.
They played West Valley.

The Varsity boys and the girls Freshman team both play at 7:30 in separate gyms.
Rylan was our runner tonight and watched Logan's game.
As soon as he saw Logan at the check-in/scorekeepers table, he would run to us in the other gym and run us back to watch his varsity minutes.
And then when he'd get taken out we'd run back to Presley's game.

Presley had 6 points tonight in her win.

Logan actually got put in during the first quarter.
Ry ran to us and we missed his first 2 points as a varsity player.
But Dave was able to listen to the game (Tune In app) in the Bahamas.
He texted me when Logan got his first 2 points.

West Valley has a 7'1 kid.

There's 2 of his 5 points for the night.
They won tonight.

Harper learned a dance with the Wenatchee High Dance Team and they performed at Varsity's half time.

Rylan had 3 games in Cashmere on Saturday.
Saturday morning

While Logan and Presley were riding the bus to Moses Lake, we headed to Cashmere to watch Rylan.
They played Leavenworth, Cashmere 6th grade, and Cashmere 5th grade.

He had 3 phenomenal games, scoring 21 points, 15 points, and 6 points, and winning all 3 games.

His last game ended just in time for all of us to head to Moses Lake for Presley and Logan's games.
They played at the same time again and this night Harper was our runner.
Presley's team won 20-18 and she had 2 points.

Logan played against this Moses Lake Logan (#33, he was always the biggest, tallest player) for years in AAU.

Logan ended the night with 6 points, and they won again tonight.
Wenatchee is in first place in their league.

As Grandma and Papa were leaving to head home from Moses Lake, Grandma announced that it was a 7 wins for 7 games week-end.
Pretty Amazing!
