We've been wanting to go skiing as a family for the whole winter, and we finally got to on February 21st.
I haven't been skiing in years because I've always had a kiddo to stay home with, but I promised Dave and Logan that when Harper was in kindergarten I would go.
Getting 6 people ready to go skiing takes a lot of work and preparation.
We laid everything out the night before.
Logan helped Presley put on her boots.
Logan and Rylan were making fun of me in the car, saying I was going to fall and have my goggles on upside down.
We got up there and got Harper in her lesson.
We had about 3 hours before we had to pick her back up.
Mom and Logan on the ski lift.
I think Logan probably thought this day was pretty boring.
I was slow coming down, but he would go through the trees and off jumps and ski ahead and wait for me.
Chair 1
Dave took this picture, but he then skied ahead of me, turned around and made it down this hill backward, instructing me as I made my way to the bottom.
He told me I was good enough to do a blue run now.
Chair 4
Presley was so sweet today. She was a confident skier and was encouraging me and telling me if there was a steep hill ahead. I rode up Chair 4 with her and she was telling me, "it's just like Chair 1 but longer and steeper."
She was really fun to ski with.
Rylan skied today with no poles. He's got great balance and follows Logan pretty well. I think he'd go a lot faster if Dave would let him loose.
Logan's not in this picture because he's probably down at the bottom after going through the trees and waiting for us.
He had fun skiing really fast toward me and stopping and spraying snow up on me.
We had lunch and then Dave picked up Harper and watched her lesson for a few minutes.
She mastered the bunny hill.
Practicing her pizza.
(This is basically how I skied all day)
At the rope tow
Dave and Harper had lunch while we went up Chair 1 a couple more times.
Logan went through the terrain park and showed me a jump.
Presley, Ry, and I went on a side trail that was not as steep but not very wide either.
I think I did pretty well but I felt like I was going a lot faster because I couldn't do wide turns.
Logan and Ry went ahead and met Presley and I at the bottom.
Harper really wanted to go on Chair 1, but I didn't think she was quite ready so Dave and her did the rope tow.
We headed home about 3.
It was a fun family day, even though my calves were sore on Monday.
