Happy Halloween

Of all the things I did do today, I forgot to charge our camera battery and make sure the card was not full.  Eeek...so not a whole lot of good pictures.  Presley, Ry and Harper had a fun evening.  Logan was happiest when we dropped him off with a group of his friends and picked him up at 8:30.

This was the kids this morning.  Foothills Middle School had a superhero theme today so Logan dressed up in his Captain America shirt and socks.  Presley had crazy hair day and even though it's hard to tell, she has 3 ponies creating a mohawk look.
Mom and Harper cleaned house, made cupcakes for ry's school party and went to gymnastics class.

Our theme this year was good guys/bad guys.  So we had the good conscience (Harper), the bad conscience (Presley), the policeman (Rylan), and the burglar (Logan).

About 8:30 we decided our night of trick-or-treating was over...
Until next year...

Pumpkin Carving Fun: 10-29-13

Tuesday night is our "free" night so we decided to carve pumpkins after school.  Surprisingly, this year they didn't ask for help or get too tired to finish.  Even Ry, who picked the biggest pumpkin.  They all did a great job.
The kids decided on the faces they wanted and I drew and carved.
But Logan drew the face on his own pumpkin and carved it himself this year.
The guts of four pumpkins
I was cleaning up and Ry came to me with a bloody mouth and told me he lost a tooth.
This is missing tooth #2... he makes a cute jack-o-lantern.
Our finished pumpkins...

Traveling to Portland and the Oregon Coast

We left on Thursday after school with plans to eat in Yakima and make it to Portland that night, shop on Friday, and make it to Yachats by late afternoon on Friday.

The kids were pretty pumped to go...
After we ate in Yakima we put on a movie that may have had a scary part or two.  Harper kept putting her KeeKee over her eyes.
We made it to Portland at about 9:45 and found a hotel to stay the night in.  We woke the next morning, had breakfast, and then went to Clackamas to shop. The mall had a little ferris wheel and carousel you could pay to ride.  Rylan and Presley were too big for the ferris wheel.  Logan and Dave walked ahead to shop.

I love that Ry loves the little things in life.

I really wanted to go to Washington Square and all I had to do was promise to stop at the Apple Store and Dave was sold.
We ate at the Cheesecake Factory and took the Hershey's piece of cheesecake down.
After we ate we loaded up and made the scenic drive to Yachats, OR.  Dave took us on the scenic route and at times we were only going 30 miles per hour in a long line of cars.  It was a very long drive.
But then we saw ocean...
And thought we must be close.  Really, we had about another hour left in the car.
But we made it and we took a nice walk on the beach.
My peeps on the beach
Presley, Rylan, Harper, Dave, and Logan
Logan yelled up at me, "look Mom I'm texting on a log".
We saw Samee, Nate, and Miryn taking a little stroll.
Harper got to walk Geezer and Mickey a few times...
Dave and the kids took a swim in the pool on Friday night.

The wedding on Saturday wasn't until late in the afternoon so we spent some more time walking along the beach.
Ry had so much fun looking in the tide pools and finding shells.  We brought home two big bag-fulls of broken shells. This little crab didn't make the trip back home with us.
My sweet beach girl.  Presley loves the ocean.

Wedding Day: Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen

Tricia and Danny were married this last week-end.  We were so happy to get to be there to witness it and for the kids to be participants in the wedding.  It was a lovely oceanside wedding in Yachats, Oregon (near Newport).  We left on Thursday after school, stopped in Yakima to eat dinner, and then made our way to Portland to stay the night.  We officially made it to Yachats, OR on Friday afternoon.

It's hard to believe that it's been 15 years since Tricia was a Junior Bridesmaid in my wedding.
You're Welcome
Thomas, Amy (pregnant with Alyson), Dave, Leanna with arms around Tricia, Samee, Cristy, Danny, Karisa

I'm pretty sure there's never been a more pretty flower girl or more handsome ring bearer.

And the usher boy and program/bubble hand out girl weren't too shabby either.

Oh my heart, my loves

The wedding was at 4:45 but Tricia and Danny opted to have pictures done prior to the wedding so I snapped some as the professional photographer was doing her job. The sun, the blue ocean, slight breeze...seriously could not have ordered up better weather.

And then the wedding began...
The bridal party walked down to "Here comes the Sun"
Ry and Harper walked together perfectly...
It was Ry's job to deliver the rings (yes, they trusted him with the actual rings) to the best lady and the maid of honor.

And then Harper was supposed to come to Dave and I and sit with us, but she followed Ry and stood next to him the entire ceremony.
I was really just trying to get a picture of Harper and Ry standing so nicely, but this was the moment Tricia and Bob started walking down the aisle.  I love Danny's smile in this one.
In Bobby's reception toast he told everyone he was glad that he wasn't asked to give his daughter away  because he feels like he's adding a son.  I thought that was so sweet.

It was a short and sweet ceremony.  Danny and Tricia wrote their own vows to eachother.
The kiss and foot pop made it official.
The first moment of Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen

I wanted to get a picture of the youngest guest there...

We walked right over to the reception hall. And the kids found Papa's photo booth.  Papa later paid one dollar to Rylan to stop taking selfie photo booth pics.  I have a stack full of Ry pictures in different get-ups. He loved this thing.

Happy, happy day!!
