Ry's 16th birthday fell on a Monday, which is a day that the Washington Department of Licensing is closed. I told Ry this months ago and told him we'd go on Tuesday the 28th to get his license. He found out that you could purchase and order your license online on your birthday and use a paper print out until the official one arrives. So on Monday morning, before school, I was able to pay the licensing fee and print out his paper license to make it legal for him to drive (he had completed all of his drivers training classes and passed all of his tests months ago).
I texted him a picture of his official first license right as he was waking up.
Later that morning, he texted me that he had made it to school.
The first look at my new 16 year old .
Off he went, paper license in hand.
giving me the heart sign
It was beautiful outside when he left this morning, but by the afternoon, it was snowy and windy.
He ended up driving in the snow on the way home from school on his very first day of driving on his own.
They didn't realize they were twinning on Ry's birthday.
And then I picked up Harper from school and she was also twinning with them :)
Grandma/Papa and the Lindholm's sent the same card.
Presley gave him a Gonzaga shirt.
And she also sent some healthy "treats" that weren't very good.
The sunglasses he picked out.
