Spokane Volleyball Tournament (2/18 thru 2/20)

Harper and I got to spend the weekend together in Spokane at her volleyball tournament.

Cristy, Grandma, Papa, and Presley all came to watch.

We did a little shopping together, had dinner together, and watched a whole lotta volleyball.

Cristy, Grandma and Papa came to Saturday's matches.
The games were all competitive and Harper played pretty well all weekend long.

A long weekend for sure!

Grandma and Papa came for the later matches and drove home that night.
Presley stayed with us in our hotel tonight.

Harper and Ry's Busy Saturday

While Presley was finishing up her Apple Blossom duties, Harper and Ry were competing in volleyball and basketball.

Harper's volleyball tournament was local (so lucky!) so we were able to play at Foothills and Pioneer Middle Schools.  They are both close enough that we could drive back and forth to help Presley with her needs and drive Rylan to his team breakfast, team shoot around, and to catch the bus (we don't want him to drive yet, and we do want him to drive already :))

Harper started early this morning and won 2 out of the 3 matches, and that put them in the championship bracket for the afternoon.

We moved to Pioneer and they lost both of their matches there. But we still had to stick around for reffing.

Presley stopped by before getting her hair done.

Rylan had a loser out playoff game against Chelan tonight.
Chelan has won us 3 straight times, each by 25-30 points.
We weren't expecting much, and we had arranged for another parent to bring Rylan home from the bus so that Dave could take off right at the end of the game and make it back in time to see the last 30 minutes or so of the pageant.
BUT, Cashmere boys basketball had other plans.
They took Chelan to OVERTIME!
Cashmere did lose in overtime but Ry had a fabulous game.
This did make Dave late and he couldn't make it back to get to see the end of the pageant.
I couldn't get reception inside the auditorium but when I stepped out during intermission my phone started beeping texts and updates and I was able to listen to the last few minutes.

The next morning Ry was showing me some highlights of his game and we couldn't help but laugh at Dave.
He couldn't be missed :)

Presley left to head back to Gonzaga after her royalty breakfast

And we relaxed and watched the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Philadelphia Eagles int he Super Bowl

What an exciting and memorable weekend!

Presley's Last Day as Royalty

That was a quick year of all things Apple Blossom!

Saturday, February 11th was the 2023 pageant and Presley would crown the next princess.

She came home on Friday, February 10th

She had a very busy Saturday leading up to the pageant tonight.
Harper had a local volleyball tournament and Rylan had an away (Lake Chelan) basketball game but Dad and I were able to come and go and help get Presley ready and take her to where she needed to be.

Dave took Ry out to Cashmere to catch his bus to Chelan.
And I dropped off Presley at her dinner location (just for the outgoing royalty and their chaperones) on Wenatchee Ave.
(Harper was still at her tournament and luckily it was a reffing time for her team)

She did her final TV interview prior to the start of the pageant.

Eric told her he remembered that she was born with dark sideburns and that's why she was named Presley :).

The royalty walked into "Thats What Makes You Beautiful"
They danced while taking their seat.
We were not sitting too close to them.

On stage--they each had to say a little something to thank the community.
Presley handed out the Achievement Award, which she won last year, as well as crowned one of the two new 2023 Apple Blossom princesses.
