Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 25 (2021)

 Day 169, Friday, June 18th

Mom and I  left Ry and Miryn at the park while we ran into a store.
When we drove up, they ran to us all red faced and sweaty, and needing a snow cone.
When we got back home, Miryn fessed up that they had tricked us...they had splashed a little water on their faces to look sweaty so that Grandma would buy them a treat.

Day 170, Saturday, June 19th

Presley and Harper had tickets to see the Stage Kids production of "Wizard of Oz".
During the week, their Instagram was posting pictures of the same production 6 years earlier.
We found one with Presley in her barrister costume.

Day 171, Sunday, June 20th

Happy Father's Day

Day 172, Monday, June 21st

Harper and Ry were in a basketball camp this week.
I had signed them up for overnight Camp Zanika for the summer of 2020, but that was cancelled, and now Ry is not interested in attending that one.
This is the only local camp that worked for both of their age groups.

Day 173, Tuesday, June 22nd

Parents are not allowed to stay in the gym and watch so they upload a bunch of pictures and videos on Instagram at the end of the day.  I spy Harper watching the shot.

Day 174, Wednesday, June 23rd

Rylan won a couple of the camp's games today.

Day 175, Thursday, June 24th

We dropped the kids off at their camp, and Presley was working today so we went out for breakfast at Wild Huckleberry.

Father's Day Week-End

Ry and I drove to the Tri-Cities on Friday, June 18th.  Alyson happened to be in town visiting and we hadn't seen the Nihill's in a while.

We picked up Grandma and then went to get Miryn from her daycare and took her to lunch and the trampoline park.

Miryn had a pile of books and papers in her hand when we picked her up, and this was one of them.
I love the things she said about her daddy, Nate.

Grandma and Papa took us out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and then the Lindholm's came over to play cards with us.  We played "Oh Hell", I think this was Ry's first time and he did okay. I think he might have beat Mylee :)
I never did get picture with Papa tho!

Presley and Harper relaxed in the pool and they had tickets to go watch the Stage Kids production of "Wizard of Oz"

Harper and one of her classmates.

Ry had a basketball practice on Saturday in Yakima so we drove there and then went home afterwards.

Sunday was Father's Day!
Logan called this morning to talk with Dave, but we missed him today.   He was headed out for a hike.

Grandma and Papa Nelson came over today and we had Dave's choice of Papa Murphy's.

After they left, we shot hoops and enjoyed the warm evening.

Grandma texted me a picture of Papa enjoying Ding Dongs with Archie today.
Thomas with Aly and Mylee

And Samee texted us this picture of Nate with bird poop.
They were at Newport Beach, seal watching, and him and Miryn got pooped on.

And a few days after Father's Day,  Tricia and Dan announced that their 4th baby would be a girl!
Cute announcement and I love the reactions of her brothers.

What a year! Harper and Ry's Last Days of School

Rylan's last day of school was Thursday, June 10th
He plays DJ in the mornings and played these 2 songs this morning:

In the middle school drop off line for the last time, mask on and attestation form filled out.
The school had a short field day prior to the 8th grade ceremony so he didn't dress up like Logan and Presley did.

The 8th grade promotion ceremony was streamed live on-line and Dave and I were both able to watch it that morning.
Ry received academic awards in science, reading, and math.

When I picked him up from school, we went to eat lunch together at the Hot Rod Cafe.
A chili dog for Rylan.

Showing Dave all of his awards.

Each 8th grader received a high school t-shirt, and he wore his the rest of the day.

The Nelson 8th grade graduates:

Harper's last day of 5th grade was Friday, June 11th.

This ceremony was actually supposed to be in-person, but a student in the other class had a positive COVID test, and exposed 23 students during their one and only field trip to the middle school earlier this week.  Harper was not exposed as she was on a different bus and in a different field trip pod (so it was easy for the district to prove that she always maintained 6 feet of distance).
So, the district made the decision to move the 5th grade promotion to an online live event so that the kids who needed to quarantine at home could still be a part of the ceremony.  There were lots of disappointed students and parents!

Heading into her elementary school as a student for the last time.

Her school picture that flashed across the screen as they announced each student's name.

Our view while watching online...Harper 2nd row on the right.

The 2 5th grade classes that were in person that day.
Many were home in quarantine, watching online too.

All four at their 5th grade promotions:

Ry was invited to a couple of 8th grade parties
His Cashmere group of friends (June 12th, 2021).

And I thought it was so sweet that the Foothills 8th graders also wanted him at their party too, even though he didn't attend their same school this year (June 15, 2021).
Such a special time!
