College ID Camps

Dave and Logan went to three different college ID soccer camps this July.
They started at Seattle University, travelled to Portland to attend the University of Portland camp, and then travelled further south to attend Oregon State University's camp.

They were gone from Saturday, July 6th through Sunday, July 14th

Seattle University.
This was the only field I saw when all of us stopped after Wicked.

I texted one morning and they were eating a hotel breakfast (that's a lot of scrambled eggs)!

The second camp was the University of Portland.
I think Logan felt like they showed the most interest and talked to him a lot during this camp.
Merlo Field

Logan was asked to work out with the college team one night.
Thats their goalkeeper coach.
Logan is in the black jacket.

With the college team that night.
No other goalkeepers were asked to take part in the additional practice.
Dave said he looked good, very comparable to the others, and that the things he thought he was weaker in could easily be coached to Logan.

The third camp was Oregon State University.
Logan really wanted to go to this one, and had been asking since last January to sign him up.
Unfortunately, there were way too many kids there (middle school and high school), and a total of 28 goalkeepers.
Logan felt like he didn't get the individual looks that he received at both Seattle U and University of Portland.
But his team did make the championship game, but lost 1-2.

The OSU campus was very impressive though.

They made it back late on Sunday, July 14th.

Gonzaga Basketball Camp

Dave and Logan were still out of town on Thursday, July 11th when it was time to drop off Ry to his basketball camp at Gonzaga University.

I dropped off Presley and Harper at their acting camp, picked up Ry's friend, and headed to Spokane.

(for Logan, on the Gonzaga soccer fields)

In the McCarthy gym!
It was really awesome.
Luckily, the check in process and finding the dorm went smoothly.
They found some friends right away and made it down on the main floor to shoot around.
(Ry taking a shot right before I left)
I made it back just in time to pick up Presley and Harper from their acting camp at 4:00.

One of the AAU moms was staying at a hotel for the 3 days so she sent me some pictures and texts.

Ry texting me trying to figure out why Dad wasn't responding to him.
(Dave was in Oregon with Logan)

Ry making a lay-up during one of the games.
And making a free-throw too.

He had a great time at the Gonzaga camp and loved the dorm life and spending his camp money on Gonzaga merch :)

Journey of the Noble Gnarble

Presley was asked to be a teen helper for a summer production and so I signed up Harper to be part of the cast.
The Stage Kids put on a week long production of
Journey of the Noble Gnarble
(I didn't know this story at all, but its the story of the Gnarble fish trying to make her way to the top of the ocean to see the sun)

Harper was cast as the Noble Gnarble

Presley was a great help at the end of the day, helping her to learn her lines, songs, and dance routines.

She also did her make up on the show days.

She had several solo singing parts.

With her school friends

The director thanking the teen helpers for their hard work this week.
The cast had a sundae party at the end of the shows.
