Carving our Jack O'Lanterns (October 26th)

Dave, Logan, and Rylan made it home from Logan's soccer game in Hayden, ID at about 6:30 and they got right to work on carving their pumpkins.

Dad helped carve.
But Logan did a lot of his own.
I think Ry had the most fun squeezing the guts through his hands and stabbing the big chunks with the little knife.
Completed jack o'lanterns
All lit up!!

Smallwood's Harvest Farm

We took our annual trip out to Peshastin's Smallwood's Harvest Farm last week-end.  I took a zillion pictures it seems...

First a flashback to 2009 (Harper was asleep in her stroller this year)
I love Ry's sweet smile in this picture.
 And 2014

They've changed the farm around a little bit.  There is no longer a hay bale tower and they've added some fun things like milk can toss and roping a steer and panning for gold nuggets (we didn't do this).
Logan has pulled these wagons each year we've come.  At one point, Presley was in here too.
I think Ry made one ball through the hole.
The little bike bath...
Practicing her left handed roping skills
And the milk can toss...
I'm sure they were talking nicely to each other :)
Our favorite this year was the maze
Presley came in first place and I missed her coming out.
Then Rylan...
Once Ry was out he went up on the lookout with Dad and tried his best to confuse Logan

Then Harper made it out...
Finally, Logan was in last place this year.

The cow train ride was not up and running today so we made our way to feed the animals.
I bought bags of food and all the kids let the animals feed from their hands.
Harper was a little scared at first but she quickly got over that.

Logan took a selfie with his llama friend.

Our food bags were empty so we started to walk toward the pumpkins and looked back.
Presley was being the "goat whisperer".  I think she would have taken this one home.

We went to pick out some pumpkins for carving.
They used to have a pumpkin patch but now they have all the pumpkins out on display.
When we went into the little store to pay we bought some kettle corn and Jone's drinks for a treat.

It was a sweet way to spend time together.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 43

Day 295, Wednesday, October 22nd
Logan had a loose braces bracket so I had to take him to his orthodontist.  His appointment was during his lunch time so I treated him to McDonald's.   Harper was at preschool so it was just me and him.

Day 296, Thursday, October 23rd
Ry had one last make-up soccer game.  He scored this shot off a corner kick.

Day 297, Friday, October 24th
It was Wenatchee High School's Homecoming Night and I thought Harper would like to see the pretty girls in their pretty dresses.  It rained and rained ALL GAME LONG and she fell asleep before halftime.  We couldn't leave because Logan was begging us to stay so he could walk around with his friends.  Ry cuddled with Dave and kept the hot cocoa's coming.  Presley was at a friend's birthday party.

Day 298, Saturday, October 25th
We went to Smallwood's Harvest Farms to pick out our pumpkins.

Day 299, Sunday, October 26th
We carved jack o'lanterns after Logan's soccer game in Hayden, ID.

Day 300, Monday, October 27th
Ha!! Harper's writing is really good for Pre K (she copied these words).
She does not lack in the confidence department.

Day 301, Tuesday, October 28th
We have this weird 1/2 hour between dropping off Logan at school and Harper's school starting.
Today we sat together in the driver's seat and Harper played with the sun roof's automatic opener.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 42

Day 288, Wednesday, October 15th
What teenager doesn't want his littlest sister styling his hair for him at 7:20 in the morning?

Day 289, Thursday, October 16th
We had Logan's conferences today and he showed us his locker.  I was surprised to see the little stuffed pumpkin I bought him in there as his fall decoration.  He told me he'd like a new seasonal decoration throughout the year.  And then he told me that sometimes him and his friends play football with it in the hallways.

Day 290, Friday, October 17th
Rylan reading bedtime stories tonight.

Day 291, Saturday, October 18th
Harper making a Lego city at Logan's soccer game.

Day 292, Sunday, October 19th
Harper was invited to her friend Willow's 5th birthday party.  It was a "Frozen" theme.  Harper decorated her own crown.

Day 293, Monday, October 20th
Two field trips today wore out two kiddos.

Day 294, Tuesday, October 21st
I bought one electric blanket today and Logan, Presley, and Rylan sat together keeping warm with it. It was a blissful 10 minutes of sharing and cuddling and watching Vine videos.
