Presley received a ticket to watch the musical Hamilton for Christmas.
We didn't know then that our timing would be so perfectly aligned with the Lilac Festival Torchlight Parade!
Presley left early Saturday morning for the parade and I followed in the afternoon.
Grandma K. rode the bus from Pasco to Spokane to watch her in the parade, stay the night with me, and then go to the Hamilton show with all of us.
Samee, Nate, Thomas, and Amy joined us on Sunday afternoon for dinner and then the play.
Grandma got a ride home with them, and Presley and I stayed one more night and came home on Monday morning.
On their way to Spokane.
The Queen's parents were the chaperones this time.
Getting ready!
It was chilly so they wore their leggings underneath their dresses and their tennis shoes for comfort.
All theatre kids!
They walked to the judging area in the afternoon.
During their judging time.
They had to be on their float and then didn't have to be back for the actual parade until later in the evening.
In between the judging time and the parade time they went to The Steam Plant for a nice dinner.
A golf cart took them back to their float for the parade line up.
They were #116 out of 152 total entries so they did have quite a wait.
Their parade won the First Place: The Grand Marshall Award
Lined up to go.
This parade was very pretty because the floats were lit up as they went along the route.
I picked up Grandma from the bus station at 4:50 and we got her stuff to the hotel and then we walked to dinner. This was a place that we visited on a food tour when we had a Dad's day in Spokane a couple of years ago. It was as good as we remembered.
We finally spotted them down the street.
Presley knew we would be on the route somewhere but we couldn't tell her an exact location.
They started going by us, all facing the other direction, so we called out her name!
Her and Ainsley heard us and turned to wave and blow kisses at us!
I found out which hotel they would be staying in and got our room there too.
So Presley came to visit us once she was done with the parade, off her float, and walked back to the hotel.
Presley stayed the night with the Royalty and joined us the next morning in our room.
We weren't in a big hurry so we got ready, had breakfast, and went to ride the gondola.
We stayed in the Riverside Square area, walked around and shopped the rest of the day.
It was a much warmer day today than yesterday.
We met up with the others for dinner at O'Doherty's
Then it was time to watch Hamilton. We had great seats!
We had tickets to the 7 PM show, and the final show of their Spokane run.
Thomas drove the rest of the group home that night, they got home about midnight.
Wenatchee is a little further away so we stayed the night one more night and drove home Monday morning.
An awesome weekend together!
