Presley's 2021 Junior Golf Season
The COVID-19 shutdown in March 2020 meant no high school spring sports.
It very much affected Logan's senior soccer season and Presley's sophomore golf season.
But, golf courses were actually one of the first recreational activities to open up and Presley started taking golf lessons in June 2020. She continued through summer and fall, and picked up again in March 2021.
By this time, Washington State had okay'ed high school sports, each for a shorter 7 week session with limited travel.
February/March was the fall sports.
April/May was the spring sports
May/June was the winter sports.
We are so grateful to have had any season at all, and that the spring was so mild that weather issues did not cause any issues.
Dave was able to watch her quite a few times.
Her first match was at Gamble Sands.
She placed 2nd on her team and 4th overall.
We were able to watch her play in Ephrata one afternoon.
Dave normally walked along with her but this time we rented a cart.
Presley walked over to one of the tournament moderators and told him that she had forgotten her pitching wedge at the last hole, so he allowed Dave to drive back and look for it.
This is him delivering it to her (and probably trying to sneak a few words of encouragement or advice to her).
I texted Bob and Dave a video of your swing that Dad texted to me.
And Tricia texted me one time during your season too.
Presley and her golf teammates
At the end-of-the-season team party, Presley was voted Most Inspirational and Team Captain for next year.
She had a really great season, and we're looking forward to her senior golf season.
