Christmas with the Legard Family

I don't know how it happened, but we had the farthest to travel,  and were the first to arrive.  That was okay with me...we had a chance for some alone time with Papa Berries.

Very soon everyone began to arrive.

And we began to open presents.
Cristy made all the kids these letters with different pictures all over it.  It was a fun gift.
Papa Berries got Logan his own Wenatchee bag.

I didn't get a picture of Harper because the second she got a Sophia the First dress up gown, she was naked in the corner putting it on.

The grandkids bought Papa Berries a Welcome sign in the shape of one of the lookouts he hiked to this summer.

We had a great dinner and played cards and games.  The red dish in this picture is the one Grandma Berries used to fill every year with different candies.  Cristy put in the orange circus peanuts for her.  My kids love the pink "Pom Pom" mints.
Mom, Logan, and Mike almost in a turkey coma.

Off to Christmas at Little Grandpa and Papa's house (Leanna's parents).

Christmas 2013: The morning at our house

On Christmas Eve the kids all sleep up in the playroom together.  We make them wait until 7 AM before they can bother us, but they're not allowed to come down the stairs until Daddy comes and gets them.

I guess we were running late this Christmas morning...
I heard them up way before this.  They must have been watching the clock very closely.

Dave went to get them and herded them up the stairs so they couldn't see anything.  They get to stay in our room until Grandma and Papa Nelson come over at 8.  They passed the time watching the Christmas movie Arthur.  Grandma slept in this morning so the kids had to stay in our room a whole TEN extra minutes.  But they made it and we stopped on the stairs for a quick picture.

And then they finally could walk (I mean run) down the stairs.

I love how Harper is always last.

The kids saw their Santa presents first except Logan...
You can definitely tell he's looking and wondering why he doesn't see it.
It was hidden by Rylan's foot.   Dave had to point it out to him.
The kids were very ready to open all their presents.
And then we did stockings...
Their was a special video in Daddy's stocking that we watched.
It showed our family ONE more big present.
WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND IN FOUR DAYS!!

We ate our breakfast and then the kids wanted to try out their new motor bikes.
About this time we discovered that Santa had left poor Logan a dud of a PSVita.  It would only come up as a black screen.  So we bought him a new one on the 26th and sent the other back to Santa's workshop (aka Amazon).  Logan said to Dave, "why would Santa leave me a present that won't work?"
Ry and Presley were very good at these and they had so much fun.  Harper tried out her bike too and did a great job too.  I didn't get a picture of her.
We got ready and we were off to Papa Berries house.
Getting ready for Christmas Round Two.

2013 Professional Pictures

The day after Thanksgiving we had our pictures done by one of my sweet mom friends.  It was cold...no snow, but very, very cold.  I don't know why I procrastinate getting family pictures done, but we seem to be getting them later and later each year.  I do think she did an awesome job.

She was going to take a picture of just Dave and I and then asked the kids to run in and photobomb us.
And our 2013 Christmas Card

Christmas Eve

It was a beautiful day here...the kids really only needed jackets and so we sent them outside to play while we cooked and cleaned.

Compare to Christmas Eve 2012 when Dave and Troy took all the kids sledding.
Christmas Eve 2013
Right before Grandma and Papa Nelson came over.
Dave cooked the turkey.
Presley did a little "performance".

The kids opened their Christmas jammies from Grandma and Papa Kreider.
Grandma and Papa headed back to their house.
Daddy read "Twas the Night Before Christmas", like he does every year.

Christmas Eve 2013
A little Christmas Eve wrestling.

Then we opened up a special present from my mom and dad...Papa with the Berries reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and the kids followed along with their own books.  Holly is playing the piano in the background.  Such a neat gift.

Family Timer Picture.
Logan and Presley put on some cookies and milk.
And Rylan sprinkled some red glitter to help Santa land in our driveway.
The kids followed Santa on NORAD (he was in Peru last we checked)
And they just missed Santa's delivery...

And that's how we celebrated Christmas Eve 2013
