The Bahamas and Basketball

Dave left to attend his National Meeting in the Bahamas on Wednesday morning.
The flight down went fine, and after an early morning flight, a long travel day with layovers,  the 3 hour time change, he finally arrived.

Not a bad place to have coffee!

On Friday, both the boys and girls played at the Town Toyota Center for their games against Eastmont.

Presley played first and they won by 4.

Logan had the late evening game.

Logan ended with 5 points but played great defense and had some crucial rebounds.
He was named Player of the Game!
They did lose tonight.

The high school played Eisenhower on Saturday.

Presley's JV team won by quite a bit.

I was probably yelling up in the bleachers, "give him the ball!"

The Varsity boys won tonight too!

I've been doing some volunteer work to try to encourage participation in Wenatchee youth sports and increase attendance of elementary aged students at all high school games.
Tonight was our first of three Youth Nights.

We raffled off 3 basketballs that were signed by the varsity boys and girls.
We had a good turnout, even though Cashmere had Kobe Bryant show up at their girls game.
(One of their players is a 5 star recruit and is Kobe's daughter favorite player)

I was texting another mom about taking Ry to Cashmere but I was worried about setting up for this Youth Night and getting back in time for Logan's game.
(Kobe Bryant, his daughter and 7 others would die in a tragic helicopter crash only 2 weeks later)

Her son sneaking in to a pic with Kobe in the stands.

Kobe, his daughter Gianna, and the Cashmere girls team.

Meanwhile in the Bahamas, Dave won the Territory Business Manager of the Year!
Totally unexpected award!

When he called to tell me he had won, he said he had to make his acceptance speech off the top of his head, and he forgot to thank his wife and kids....I told him it was not the Oscars :)
