Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 6 (2020)

Day 36, Wednesday February 5th
Logan's HALF Birthday

Day 37, Thursday, February 6th
I texted Logan, who was home alone with Harper, to see how things were going, and he replied with this picture.
Guess things were fine!

Day 38, Friday, February 7th
Two wins tonight vs Eisenhower in Yakima

Day 39, Saturday, February 8th
Dave and Ry spent the weekend in San Fransisco and the highlight was getting to see the Lakers play the Warriors.
The game was on TV and we watched.
Logan saw them flash across the screen right after Anthony Davis had a dunk!

Day 40, Sunday, February 9th
Harper working on her class valentines tonight.

Day 41, Monday, February 10th
Ry was so scared when he saw these black and blue marks on his leg, "mom I think I have the coronavirus"
We discovered a pen had exploded in his pocket.

Day 42, Tuesday, February 11th
Senior Night for Logan at his last regular season home basketball game.
Presley had an earlier JV game.
They both lost tonight, but Logan had a really good game both offensively and defensively.

Basketball vs. Eisenhower

Dave and Ry had a special week-end in San Fransisco so it was just Harper and I that made the drive to Yakima to cheer on Presley and Logan at their games.
They both won tonight.

Logan's team was watching the JV team.
Logan on the far right, Presley on the far left.

Presley texting me at the end of the game!
I did see this before we left for dinner and ran her warm up jersey to her....sheesh!

We were laughing at Logan's headband/hair look at the end of the game.
He obviously wasn't expecting to get back in (with 39 seconds left), and he quickly put his headband on.
Lots of family there to watch both of your games.

Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 5 (2020)

Day 29, Wednesday, January 29th
Presley rolled her ankle at practice tonight.
Dave was checking it out and re-wrapping it.

Day 30, Thursday, January 30th
Dunking on our lowered hoop.

Day 31, Friday, January 31st
A WIN in Sunnyside tonight.
(Presley didn't play because of a rolled ankle)

Day 32, Saturday, February1st
A WIN against Eastmont tonight.
The students were really excited too.
(Presley's JV lost by 1)

Day 33, Sunday, February 2nd
Harper's first win of her AAU season, 8-6.

Day 34, Monday, February 3rd
Late start Mondays means time for handstands.

Day 35, Tuesday, February 4th
No zero period for Presley means she can "help" wake up Harper for me.
A good morning stretch.

More Basketball...

On Friday, January 31st, we drove to Sunnyside to watch Logan's game.
Presley had rolled her ankle earlier in the week and was not cleared to play for Friday's game.

So it was just one game on Friday night, vs. Sunnyside.

(That's Harper looking down at Logan during a time out)

I cut off Joe's head here...you've had lots of Legard family supporting you this year through a tough basketball season.  They've come to all of your away games (Yakima, Sunnyside, Moses Lake)

Harper had a couple of scrimmages on Saturday.
Her group needs the experience.
They didn't win any games on Saturday.

Logan and Presley both had big games against Eastmont tonight.
Presley was able to play a few minutes here and there.
They lost by just ONE!

Logan's Varsity team got the win tonight vs. Eastmont!
That's always a big game.

Logan only played a few minutes in the second quarter...he didn't get in at all in the second half.
But I loved that the student section rushed the floor and so many of his buddies were high-fiving and giving him hugs!

It was a fun night and a much needed win.

Harper had one game on Sunday, and they won an Eastmont team too.
(Eastmont has several teams in this age group and this particular team is the weakest of the Eastmont girls teams).

We won 8-6!

Harper and I stopped for Papa Murphy's pizza and headed home for the Super Bowl.
We picked our squares first and then Harper drew numbers out of a hat to put them in order.

Harper won one quarter, Rylan won one quarter, and Presley won 2 quarters...go figure!

Chiefs won over San Fransisco!

It's Basketball Season

Logan and Presley had only one game the weekend of January 24th-26th.

The both played Saturday vs. Davis.

Presley's team won.

Logan lost to Davis by 9.

And Harper had her very first AAU tournament, the Wenatchee Steve Talbot tournament.
Originally, there wasn't going to be a 4th grade team but the coach of the 5th grade team knew us (Presley and his older daughter play together on JV), and asked Harper to play for him.
Then it turned out that the 3rd graders didn't have enough players to create a team so they asked a few of the 4th graders to join their team.
I think the 3rd/4th grade combo would have been a better fit for Harper, but she's playing up this year.

The size difference is very noticeable.

She's learning and building on her skills.
They didn't win any games this weekend.
(She's not the strongest player, but she's definitely not preventing them from winning.  They're not going to win many games regardless of if she's on the court or not).

And she's creating some funny memories....
