We had a very late wildfire season this year.
This was taken from our backyard in early October.
Wenatchee was right in the middle of two active wildfires--The Labor Mountain Fire and the Sugarloaf Fire.
The Labor Mountain fire shut down Blewitt Pass for a week.
Our air quality was poor for a few weeks, affecting the football and soccer games schedules.
Logan, Corbin and Corbin's parents came to Leavenworth for Octoberfest and we all went to dinner one night.
We showed them this picture and they couldn't believe we hadn't been evacuated (we were on Level 2, but never immediate danger)
The helicopter with their water buckets flew over our house lots of times.
Ry came home for a few days in October for their fall break.
He started official practices on October 13th
Ry texted that he got the jersey number he wanted.
Samee and Miryn went to see Benson Boone in Portland and met up with Presley and Kel at a bookstore.
One of our last fall swims of the season
Harper took Chewy for a walk to get the mail and sent me this rainbow pic.
Always waiting for Dad to wake up and come out.
I don't have to drive to Cashmere too often anymore, and Harper had a 6 game away schedule.
By the time she played on her home court, the leaves were beginning to change.
This fall was about volleyball, lots and lots of volleyball.
Neon night at one of the early football games.
This new little driver has been going to all the football games, both Wenatchee and Cashmere.
I sent Logan a care package with fall shaped pasta noodles.
Presley and Kel drove to the Oregon coast.
Kel must really love Presley cause he endured a 2 hour Taylor Swift official release party documentary.
It was his half birthday tonight and I told Presley the real gift for Kel would be allow him to leave half way through :)
Dave texted Presley that he completed a Peloton workout to The Life of a Showgirl
Papa, Joe, Bobby
Joe and Papa
Papa with the berries was honored at his local union, earning his 65 year service pin. Amazing!
Halloween with Miryn and her friend as K-Pop Demon Hunters
I love, love, love getting a "look what I did to my hair" text from Miryn.
We were all Mariner's fans this fall when they made it to the World Series, losing to Toronto in 7 games!
Thomas with his rally shoe on!
Logan and Corbin even got tickets for one of the home games!
It was such an exciting extra innings game.
Logan texted us this Space Needle picture from his apartment window.
Seattle was flying the Mariners flag.
And right after the World Series, Nate and Papa twinned to watch the Seahawks together.
And we found ourselves traveling to catch the first few games of Ry's collegiate career.
Walking the campus a little bit before Ry's game.
Chewy made a new bestie when Grandma and Papa came to watch Harper's volleyball on Saturday, stayed the night, and then we drove to Newberg the following day to watch Ry's game.
My mom had brought cookies for us and the next morning Dave was wondering why the container was empty.
I was looking for an old notebook of mine and ran across this one of me and Presley's conversations.
She was feeling sassy this evening and just trying to read (this must have been her 7th grade year).
Dave having a long conversations with his Dad one evening.
We had so many special fall days, but also received difficult medical news and long term outcomes for Papa Nelson's cancer diagnosis.
Dad went to lots of medical appointments and helped make Papa comfortable for those last few weeks when it was decided that there were no other options to control his cancer.
On November 14th, Papa and Grandma decided to stop all treatments and he was given 4-6 weeks left to live.
He passed away early morning, December 3rd.
