Lea's Day-Lea's, Week 10

Day 64, Wednesday, March 5th

Today was a half day at school for conferences.  Logan and I spent the afternoon down at the circle area playing one on one and around the world.  I told him he needed to get his ball back up in the garage so he packed it under his shirt. 

Day 65, Thursday, March 6th

Presley's class had a Lewis and Clark presentation and Harper and I went to watch.  Presley had a speaking part in the play. 

Day 66, Friday, March 7th

Harper and Mom before pre-school.  I had a lot to do this morning so I was anxious to get her to school. 

Day 67, Saturday, March 8th

We stayed at the Davenport Hotel while in Spokane.  The kids were so impressed with the big walk in shower.  Harper was a hot water hog this morning. 

Day 68, Sunday, March 9th

Logan's 6th Grade AAU team won the championship at Spokane's Bring in the Spring tournament. 

Day 69, Monday, March 10th

Day 70, Tuesday, March 11th

I had to crop myself out of this picture because I look horrible, but this is Logan and I cuddled up in bed watching an episode of "The Middle".  I love that my tween will still snuggle with me.  

Rylan's Friend Birthday Party...2/23/14

Rylan was so excited to have a friend party this year.  He decided to have a "I Wish It Was Summer" birthday party with his friends.  Rylan decided who he wanted to invite and there were 10 kids invited (including 2 sweet girls).  We held it at a local hotel and rented a room, the conference room, and the indoor pool for a few hours on Sunday afternoon.  

We started out in the conference room and colored summer pages as the guests arrived. 

Then we played three games of musical chairs and opened presents. 

We sang happy birthday and ate cake and ice cream. 

All of the kids were very ready to go swimming for the last hour. 

They liked the hot tub too. 

And when the kids were picked up they got their own pair of flip flops and a flavored water bottle. 

We had to rent the room for the night so we picked up the other kids and took them back for more swimming and pizza.  It was a very fun and easy 7th birthday party.

Day 57, Wednesday, February 26th

My mom sent Ry's presents and there was a treat for me too. 

Sunnyslope's Centennial Celebration was on Friday night and I was the planner of the event.  

Yes, I did have this treat at about 10:30 on Friday night.  Tea and chocolate...two of my faves. 

Day 58, Thursday, February 27th

Day 59, Friday, February 28th

The Centennial Celebration was a complete success!! 

Standing room only, great fundraising event, I got lots of really nice compliments. 

I was happy to have this over though!!

Day 60, Saturday, March 1

Miss Mylee's 13th birthday and the Lindholm's and Grandma and Papa came to Wenatchee for a visit.

Day 61, Sunday, March 2nd

Academy Awards night 

Yes, Frozen is the only nominated movie I had watched (it won for best song).

Day 63, Tuesday, March 4th

This is more like it...so nice Rylan and Harper went on an adventure on the hills behind our house. 

Rylan yelled down at me, "Mom, can I climb up on the roof?"  I'm just thankful he asked before he actually tried.

Day 52, Friday,  February 21st

My Rylan woke up early to use the bathroom while I was in the kitchen making lunches for the day. I make a tea for myself each morning as I'm making lunches.   I asked him if he'd like to try and go back to sleep and he said he'd really like to have a tea with me.  Sometimes you just need a quite moment with your mom, wrapped up in a warm blanket to start the day.  

Day 53, Saturday, February 22nd

Logan and Dad went to the kickoff of the Inaugural Season of the Wenatchee United Semi Pro Team.   

Dave is part owner of the team with these men.

Day 54, Sunday, February 23rd

Harper's half birthday...FOUR AND A HALF.  We had half sandwiches at lunch time. 

Also, the day Rylan had his friend party at the hotel swimming pool.

Day 55, Monday, February 24th

Rylan came home from school and immediately got to work on writing 8 thank you notes to his friends with no complaints. 

Day 56, Tuesday, February 25th

Ellensburg AAU Tournament: February 17-18

This is one of our favorite basketball tournaments cause the kids love to tour the college campus.  This year we did not play at the college, but rather at Ellensburg High School so that was a bummer.  In between games we still went into the HUB but lots of stores were closed because of President's Day week-end.

We did take the kids by Sue Lombard Hall...they like to hear the story of how mom and dad met.

Logan's first games were on Sunday and Grandma and Papa drove to watch him play.  Dave helped coach this week-end.

Wenatchee won the first game vs. Kittitas easily. 

Logan plays defense very well and is often asked to guard the best/highest scorer from the other team. 

Papa brought his camera to video Logan a little bit.  Presley likes to play sports announcer and interviewer at the end of games.  It's her favorite part of tournaments.  

We lost our second game to Zillah Flight. 

We decided to drive home on Saturday and this was Blewitt Pass all the way home. 

We had two more games on Monday.  The first was against Ellensburg which we won in overtime.  That put us in the championship against Zillah again.  We lost to them (again) and took 2nd place for this tournament. 

Starters were announced at the start of the championship game. 

We were down by 16 points and battled back to tie and ultimately lost by 4.
